Central California Zone - United States Water Polo

Notes from Feb. 20th Zone Meeting:

*   New Age cut-off rule for National Championships is determined by the first date of the national Championship event.  i.e. If you are a 14 years old on the first day of Boys' JO's (July 30) you may participate on a 14U team.  Please remember that this is for National Championship events only.  Any regular tournament during the year is governed by its own age limits set up by the tournament director.

*  Ball sizes for Age Group Tournaments.  
14u Girls', 12u Boys' & Girls' will use the new Mikasa W50008 red junior ball.  
14u boys' & 16 and older women will use the Mikasa 5009 women's ball.  
All older Boys' & Men's divisions will use the Mikasa 5000 men's ball.

*  Please make sure that the new Conduct of Championship rules are understood.  All athletes must be registered with their club by May 31 in order to play in a national championship event this summer.  If you want to play in a JO Qualifier, JO's, any other National Qualifier, or Championship you must be registered with THAT club by May 31.  No exceptions, and no club transfers!!!!  Again all normal tournaments during the year are not governed by this rule.  You may play for a differnet team in any given game, as long as it is not a national champiomship game or qualifier.


*Courtney Porter, Jamey Wright, & Bruce Hastie were re-elected to Board of Director positions for the Central CA Zone.

*Boys' JO Qualifiers will be held in Clovis June 19/20-
*Girls' JO Qualifiers will be held in Modesto June 26/27 -
*Clubs must register their teams for JO's through USAWP website and pay entry fee before they may participate in the JO Qualifier.

*Central CA Zone will host Zone Club Championships during the Summer of 2010 on July 17-18 & July 24-25.
